doesn\'t work for 6 awgThe dies that are supposed to be for 6 awg wires (#16) are too large to work for 6 awg lugs. Experienced some leakage. Worked well for 4/0 lugs, but the fact that the 6 awg lugs don\'t work as promised give me some doubts as to how good the 4/0 crimp is.
Would easily be 4-5 stars if it worked with 6 awg wires, quite a good price for this tool.Posted on

Worked out great!I needed this tool to crimp some 1/0 AWG power wire. Although a little awkward, I eventually found the proper die needed for my application. There was a conversion chart for their sizes to wire gauge size. I wish the wire gauge sizes were marked on the dies themselves instead of on a chart, but the tool worked out, and I hope to use it again.

When you need to crimpWorks well, but wished the AWG sizes were stamped on the dies. No instructions came with tool , so I had to go to website to figure out which die goes with the desired size terminal. Otherwise the tool works real good, is easy to use and appears to be reliable.

Same as other reviewsThis thing works great but like others have stated the dies don\'t seem to be right for the case. Some are floating around in there like they decided to put extra dies in later or they didn\'t convey how many dies were going to be included in the kit to the manufacturer of the case

Won\'t crimp 2/0Same as a few others here, using the 70mm to crimp 2/0 results in a failure. Cable slides right out.
50mm is too small, extrudes excess material from the lug which then needs to be cleaned up and leaves un-
tinned lug material expoied.
For 2/0 cannot recommend.Posted on

Works great!After struggling with a hammer-strike crimper for some time (next to impossible to install cable lugs with the cables on the vehicle) I finally picked up a hydro crimper. This thing is nuts in the amount of time and struggle it saves when repairing old cables or making new ones. The pump works well and you get a plentiful assortment of dies, and even a replacement o-ring kit. Fantastic tool that I should have bought a long time ago.

Bulletproof crimp on 4 AWG and 6 AWG battery cablesWe wanted the best crimp we could get on our FRC competition robot's battery cables and this is definitely it. Love the tidy hex crimp and there's definitely no air in between the strands when done. Only complaint is that the dies are in mm and not AWG, so we took a paint marker and wrote the AWG on each.
