Great deck box for outdoors, but can be used indoors.Really like this deck box--looks good indoors for storing yoga props and exercise equipment; good size. It is fairly easy to put together; found it needed two people--one to hold and one to screw parts together. Assembly was easy otherwise. Everything aligned. Color was what was on the website--not super light, but with slightly dark tints here and there.;Would not mind having a stick or something to keep lid open in the future. Right now everything is tight and lid remains open when pushed up, but eventually I am sure things will loosen and lid will need something to prop it open.;Feels sturdy enough to sit on, although not sure how long it would last if used as a bench.

Really niceI ordered this for storing pillows and blankets outside, put it together myself in less than an hour, and liked it so much I decided to use it indoors instead. For the price, it is a no-brainer for any kind of storage. The top has decent quality hinges that provide resistance when closing, so I wouldn’t be afraid to use this as a toy box either (less likely to smash little fingers in the lid). I genuinely appreciate the quality and would recommend it. Guess I’ll order another!

Great QualityThis is a solid piece. But do need two people to help the assembling. Love the natural color which matches my recent purchased patio furniture. Love that it’s got venting all around, makes a perfect outdoor storage and sitting space. It’s still worth the money. Not sure if this is waterproof. But I would definitely want to add an additional coating just to help increase the durability.

Beautiful and efficientThis is a very attractive and spacious storage bench for outdoors. The wood finish is beautiful and it is nice and thick. The assembly took about 30 minutes and was not terribly hard. I'm hoping it is really waterproof, which would make it perfect!

Beautiful storage box!This box seems sturdy and is beautiful and is a great size. Husband had to re position a couple of screw holes but was no big deal for him and otherwise, it went together great! One piece of the bottom came off, maybe during transport but it had been glued so, possible previously damaged but maybe not. Should be easy to fix though. Only giving it 4 stars because I will need to put a heavier coat of sealant on it and I don't yet know how it will hold up.

Beautiful wood.Much better than buying a plastic one in my opinion. Easy to assemble and acacia wood is a beautiful wood. I gave it a boiled linseed oil coat before leaving it outside for added weather protection.

Perfect porch pillow boxArrived in good time and was not too heavy to move inside by myself. Assembly is simple and from previous reviews I knew to not over tighten the screws. It was assembled in 45 minutes. I did most myself and had help with holding the lid while I screwed the hinges on. I put up photos of how it looks assembled and how it looks after a coat of tung oil is applied. I think the tung oil wakes the natural colors of the wood just enough and provides a layer of protection against sun and any rain that reaches it on the porch.
This is not a tool box or a work bench or a place to sit while putting on shoes. It’s just a decorative box that can withstand outdoors elements. I expect it will last many years if not abused. I plan to put another coat of tung oil on it and then put it outside.Posted on

Mine arrived with two broken wood frames on different pieces.The bench/storage unit is a good value for the money. However the packaging is inadequate to be shipped from Vietnam.
Two of the frame pieces were broken, due to the way the hinges are attached to the frame for shipping. The manufacturer should not attach these since only one end is attached and there is no allowance for the height of them as the attached portion is at a 90° angle to the frame sections. Any pressure near them will likely result in the same breaks mine has without an adequate spacer for the hinge height.
But, it is a heavy box, and I do not see me dragging it to FedEx to return; and since I am handy I believe I can repair it properly and the repairs will not be seen because one is on the inside and the other will be under a cushion we bought for it. I injected high strength glue, then clamp each broken piece and let them set for 24 hours. A light sanding and the cracks are not visible.
I was going to send it back, but every time I lifted it to try and get it in the car, it never happened, since I imagined me trying to wrestle it in and out of the car.
All of that said, it goes well with our teak patio furniture once I used teak oil on it and it holds our cushions so I just have to wait for a heavy rain to see if the cushions stay dry.Posted on

Beautiful box, reasonable priceIt didn't quite fit the all the new chair cushions (oddly enough, the reviewers of the cushions said they weren't puffy enough) but there were 8 (2 each for 3 rockers and 2 for adirondack chairs), so I decided to buy another one for more room, and to keep the hot tub stuff right by the tub. I can't speak to the weather proof aspect, but nothing lasts forever. I'll probably just oil them to extend their lives. The box is sturdy and the wood is much nicer looking than the plastic. And it's definitely a good deal for the price.
Assembly is easy till one gets to the lid, but I realized that I had to screw in the big hinge so that the small hinges would line up. A fair amount of cursing escaped my mouth before I figured it out, but all in all it wasn't too hard to assemble. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand. As with some of the other reviewers, I'm a woman in my late 60s and 4'10" on a good day. I was able to wrangle it and am even going to try and get it outside by myself, though that could be lots of fun to watch. I received it really quickly and everything was included. Very attractive piece for the moneyUsing as storage bin for kindling. Very easy to assemble and looks attractive. Only complaint is that the screws for the hinges are easily stripped when tightening into the wood but this does not seem to have compromised the strength of the hinge attachment (3 screws per hinge side helps).

Exactly as picturedI’m an over 60 diy’er and I put this together myself. Had to walk away once but ended up with one solid bench! It’s indoors not exposed to weather but seems like it could last a long while in weather.

Do Not expect RainproofThese are economical, beautiful, easy-to-assemble patio boxes! I keep my patio furniture covers in them. I also keep tabletop bbq, supplies, bagged wood pellets, garden tools, etc in them. Rain CAN get into these boxes, but not substantially. If you want waterproof protection, add an impermeable protection of contents.

Good all around outdoor boxVery stylish looking outdoor weather resistant box. Easy to assemble. Only downside was one of the hinges on the side had been bent pretty badly. I was still able to assemble the box and the lid works fine but it does not close 100% flush / aligned. I would still say it was with the price overall.

Protect the woodI purchased this for my screened in porch as an extra place to sit as well as for storage. I LOVE MY BENCH but the 1st time it got wet you could definately tell a diference. I have since used a wood protector polish type product but I can't fix what is already done. Glad I didn't plan on using it outside like some of the pictures showed. However, I would still recommend it.

I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER as it is not only beautiful but strong and well made. I put it together by myself in about 45 minutes. If you pay attention and don’t reverse the side panels, it won’t take you as long. My box arrived in a couple of days, the 6 flat sides were well-packed and in perfect condition. Great instructions. No issues. This deck box is so much nicer than a plastic one and it’s not $1200. Boom. Don’t hesitate. It’s even $20 less than when I bought mine. I've ordered teak oil to preserve the look.

Not hard to assemble, pretty, but some design issuesOverall, I think this is a great value and would buy another one in in a bigger size and even take the time to buy the right screws. This is a nice looking box with a pretty ring to pull the lid open. It went together fairly easily--I'm not very strong and have a bad back, but I was able to get the whole box together except for the lid, then my husband helped and it went together in about 5 minutes.
I disagree that the instructions are not good-the instructions are just pictures, but the parts are labeled in the pictures. I was worried when I saw picture instructions because I usually have a hard time with IKEA furniture, but if you just look carefully you can see which part is the top/bottom (bottom has an extra piece of wood for the bottom panel to sit on) and the proper way to orient the side panels (hinges are installed an inch or two closer to the back of the side panel). That said, I agree with the other reviewer about the screws being too small--even though the kit included enough screws, I couldn't get the included screws through the hinge openings. Until they fix this kit, I'd suggest getting 4 screws that have a smaller diameter than the M4x15mm screws they include. The other small screws worked fine for the hinges along the back panel and top panel.
Also, super important--don't use a drill/driver to install then screws! Just like another reviewer said, you will crack the wood. The hand wrench they give you works fine and doesn't take long. You'll also need a Phillips head screwdriver. I don't know why they say you need a flat head and a hammer in the instructions; I didn't use those at all.
Finally, measure your patio cushions if you're buying this to store them. This only stored 2/3 of my cushions because I had to put them in at an angle. I think the inside dimensions are only 16x15x40-something--long enough but not wide enough to lay them flat.Posted on

Quality is somewhat understandable given the price point. I am not sure it does look pretty on our deck once finished but I'm not sure how long it will last 5/10

Very niceSeems sturdy. It looks great and was fairly simple to put together. One of the floor slats was cracked, but a little tape did the trick and since it’s inside the box, it’s no big deal. Overall we are very impressed and it suits our needs perfectly.

Beautiful deck box! Easy to assemble.Light weight and just beautiful. The picture does not come close to the true beauty of this deck box. It arrived as promised, securely packaged, and without a scratch. Instructions were short but very clear, and except for the lid, I was able to assemble completely by myself. Just had hubby hold the lid so I could attach the hinges. The instructions also have customer service info, just in case something is missing or if you need help.
We bought this as an in-house storage for pillows and blankets. If you would like to use outside, make sure it is protected from the elements since it is real wood and can suffer from wetness and sun.Posted on

Awful instructionsOne of the panels arrived broken. I fixed that fairly well, esp. since the crack was on the inside. Little did I know that was just the beginning of my problems. I've put together a lot of furniture over the years, and these were by far the worst instructions I've ever encountered. You'd think something like a bench would be a snap, but it was all too easy to do the side panels wrong, and the small hinge holes were drilled off kilter. I got in a real wrestling match with the the two large hinges. I finally decided to leave them off. I've bought other furniture that included helpful peel-off stickers to help with front/back and right/left. The manufacturer should add those to alleviate these issues.

A HIDEAWAY I N THE OPENEasy to built, easy to look at. It is strong and I store my tools in it. I had storage cabinets on my balcony and was told that I couldn't. Only sitting chairs or benches were permitted with a table. So these benches qualified and gave me storage as well.

Nice Coffee TableI bought this to use for indoor use as blanket storage and a living room coffee table at our lake house. I love it! It arrived well packaged in a box that was sufficiently padded. It had zero flaws, no scratches or splits in the wood. It went together perfectly, all pre drilled holes lined up and the screws went in easily with the provided Allen wrench.

Nike Teak ChestThis storage deck box looks great! It did take a while to put together (for one person) but it wasn’t too long (less than 1 hr). The springs also took me a while to figure out, but they work well. The color and quality is quite good. It also serves as a stool. I’m very happy with it!

It's beautiful, but...The little screws that are supposed to attach the stay-open mechanism to the lid are just a tiny bit too wide, and they don't go through the holes drilled into the mechanism for attachment. But it's a beautiful box, and it keeps my gardening tools corralled, so I mostly love it.I took one star off for "Weatherproof", because it's really more weather-resistant, but it is exactly right for my needs. I wouldn't suggest storing anything that absolutely can't get wet in these, because there is a small amount of breathing room between the side slats. They are angled downward (away from the box), so it would take snow or some extreme rain, but moisture can definitely get in. I'm in a very dry area, so I don't anticipate that being a problem for me.All in all, it's a beautiful piece of furniture, serves its purpose, and only has one or two minor flaws in my opinion. I would consider buying another one if they got the whole screw thing figured out!

Great piece!Beautiful wood and design, was easy to assemble, came well packaged, hinges hold the lid up securely, lid operates smoothly, good design.
