Defeat the plastic turtle!If you really want a sandbox for your family, this is the one to get. It's so much better than that silly green turtle. You don't have to worry about the lid blowing off in a rainstorm, so you can sleep soundly. Let's be honest, a sandbox filled with wet sand is no fun for anyone. Large sandbox!This sandbox was easy to assemble and looks well-made. The edges are thick and comfortable to sit on. It's huge! There's plenty of room for my four children (and our neighbor) to play. It's also easy for two toddlers to get in and out. It was a truly great shopping experience! My kids loved it!

Classic choiceAn older model—I wish it still came in two pieces (lid and base). It took a while to assemble, but it seems sturdy enough. A good size for a toddler—it won't make a mess in the backyard. It also seems to be pretty rainproof.

The grandkids love this sandboxThe price was good, delivery was fast, and it wasn't difficult to assemble except for one minor issue. There was a missing screw or something, but it was easily replaced at a local hardware store. The bottom cover and top cover of the box are both in great condition.

Easy to assemble and the perfect size for multiple children.I love this sandbox! My daughter bought it. She has three children under five and is also looking after other children in the household, so this sandbox is large enough to comfortably accommodate at least five. It's easy to assemble. The lid is durable and snaps on easily. Even my five-year-old granddaughter had trouble getting it on. I also love the bench next to it.

Super cute sandbox – the kids loved it!This sandbox is such a highlight in our backyard! The kids were hooked when I first built it. The wood is sturdy, the canopy provides great shade, and the adjustable lid stays clean when not in use. They can play in it for hours, and the little accessories like the funnel and drawing board are just the icing on the cake. Assembly is easy, and the finished product feels durable and well-made. Excellent qualityIt was super easy to put together and the overall quality is great, it doesn't get water in after it rains but holds the rain water very well, the screws are the right length and the folding bench is very convenient, it would probably be better if the bottom was made of a different material to hold the sand in as it's not the best quality but overall a great product

Beautiful sandboxThis sandpit is easy to set up, kind of like an adult-sized puzzle. The only thing I had trouble with was the seat. I don't have a power drill, so I tried to screw them in and ended up hurting my hand. Someone finally fixed it for me. It's been a few months now, and here are the pros and cons. The good thing is that my kids love this sandpit; they usually stay in it and don't use the seat much. We keep it covered with a rain cover. The downside is that the seat is wobbly, and I don't think it will last long; sand will still come out of the bottom. Yes, you get a mesh lining, but sand will still come out. We put it on the grass in our backyard, so you know what kind of flooring/surface it's on. Still a great purchase, as my kids have a blast playing in it. However, I'm losing sand, and the seat isn't lasting long.

I really like this sandbox!The wood is durable and well-finished, and assembly is simple and straightforward. Nice little sandbox - you'll need 300 to 350 pounds of sand!It's a bit thin, and I think the bottom three layers should be held together with something else, as it tilts significantly in either direction depending on how you tilt the canopy. We added a fully waterproof canopy for an extra layer of protection to see if it would help protect the device through the winter. It fits perfectly for our 18-month-old and was easy to assemble; I managed it myself.

Before assembling, I coated all the wood with natural wood oil to improve the sandbox's weather resistance and longevity. The assembly process was simple and straightforward. All parts are pre-drilled, and all the hardware is included. From unpacking the box to setting up the sandbox took me only about an hour. The bench is sturdy enough for children and even adults to sit comfortably, and it folds down to form a lid when not in use, keeping the sand clean and dry. The roof is adjustable in height and angle for convenient sun protection. The solid fir wood construction feels sturdy, and the open bottom design facilitates drainage while also allowing for control of the sand depth. I also liked that you could close the sandbox because there were stray cats there. I'm deducting one star because I personally felt it was too small for anything other than a solo experience.

Great sandbox for multiple kids!Assembly was easy, it's bigger than I expected, and the kids loved it! I did use stain sealant for added protection and some extra weed barrier under the included cap, as we have some stubborn moles and crazy weeds. The cap fits perfectly. We placed a half-inflated giant beach ball in the center under the cap to prevent rainwater from pooling in the middle and draining away. I might get a different cap, as this one does let in some water when it rains. We ended up using 16 (75-pound) bags of sand (not play sand) to fill it (1200 pounds), which was really the hardest part. It's deep enough for the kids to really dig and play without having to dig into the bottom. Once built, it's lightweight, making it easy to relocate if we choose to.

The perfect sandbox!This sandbox is amazing! It's the perfect size! We don't have a big backyard, but I wanted a sandbox big enough for my three kids and their friends to have plenty of room to play this summer! I found the 15 bags of sand to be just the right amount! The lid isn't the best, but it works pretty well. The wood is also very high quality, and assembly was super quick and easy.

The price is pretty good!Good value for the price. Be sure to nail the black lining on the base to the wood and then to the sides. If the ground is uneven, the sand will leak out. Be careful when opening and closing the top the next day; the wood cracked. It was easily fixed with wood glue and some clamps. Two toddlers can fit comfortably. A 1-year-old and a 3-year-old can play with it easily. It comes with at least six bags of play sand.

The kids love it and have been playing it for three years now.The kids absolutely love this sandbox. It's a great value. It comfortably fits two toddlers, but it's a bit small. We keep it in the garage so we don't have to worry about it raining. The lid screws on, so I'm not sure how waterproof it is. Sand also leaks out of the seams at the bottom, which is a bit annoying. My kids love it, though.

The perfect durable and space-saving sandbox with lid and toys for your little one!I highly recommend this sandbox! It's incredibly sturdy and easy to assemble! So far, it seems very durable and perfect for a small space. The instructions say it requires several hundred pounds of sand, but you only need a 50-pound bag! It's a great gift for my three-year-old grandson, and he loves playing in it! My only complaint is that it's a bit pricey, but that's also a great way to be economical, haha. Oh, and I love that it comes with a shovel, rake, a truck, and two cute figures!

Beautiful - great purchase!This sandbox is made of beautiful, high-quality materials. It was incredibly easy for us to set up in just 30 minutes. The hardest part was getting the sand into the sandbox. The lid is very durable and easy to use. We've been using it for almost a month and it's been fantastic. We use it every day and it's a great value. A word of caution: If rain is expected, place a large beach ball or something else that creates a dome in the middle of the sandbox before using the lid. I discovered today that scooping water out of such a large sandbox is not an easy task.

Large sizeInstallation took longer than I expected and was quite frustrating because the holes didn't line up properly. If the holes were aligned correctly, it should be quick and easy to put together. I wouldn't recommend sitting on the "seats" as they aren't very sturdy. Overall, it's a great size and my 5-year-old loves it!

Smaller sizeLove it! My kids would spend every waking minute in the sandbox if I let them. It's so fun, but I wish it were a little bigger. It's perfect for one child, but too small for two. It has a lid, which is really practical. We keep our toys safe and secure overnight. It's incredibly durable; my kids have been using it for a month now, and it still looks like new.

Great sandbox!The quality of this sandbox is amazing! It's designed so that when it opens, there are benches on either side. These little benches can seat up to three children on each side, which is great when my grandson has company. It opens easily and is ready for play. I love the design! When I bought this sandbox for my grandson, I also included a lid to protect it from the Florida weather. The sandbox looks just like it did when we first bought it. It can hold quite a bit of sand, but I usually only put four bags in at a time. To further protect the sandbox from the elements, we placed a thick sheet of plywood underneath it before setting it up. The sandbox also comes with a very sturdy, cloth-like tarp that you can use to line the sandbox before adding sand, which is also a great feature.

Worth the investmentLike other reviews, I needed to provide my own screws. The included screws were small and flimsy. When I attached the lid from the bench to the lid, it wouldn't close because the slats were cut too long to fit around the awning's crossbars. Although this sandbox has some flaws, my son still loves it. It's a great product. It smells great and is very sturdy once filled with sand. I used 300 pounds of sand and could have used more, but it wasn't necessary.

Love it! Perfect for my 6 year old.Easy to assemble. Arrived quickly. My 6-year-old son loves it! It takes more sand to fill it than the description says, but that's if you want it full, not just a quarter full. We put over 1,000 pounds of sand in it, but we wanted to keep it full because my son loves digging with his hoe, and this prevented him from constantly hitting the black barrier at the bottom. We also nailed the black barrier down to prevent sand from leaking out. My only complaint is the lid. When it rains, water accumulates and pulls the lid off the sides. Even with a billiard ball and a bucket under the lid, it still happens. If you don't get a lot of rain, this might not be a problem, but overall I still recommend it. I just run outside to soak it up and then pull the lid back into the corners. I put heavy rocks in the corners to try to prevent it from pulling off, but even with a lot of rain, it still comes loose. Anyway, I won't rave about it anymore, but 10/10. It's big enough for my 6-year-old and 13-year-old, and there's still half a sandbox for other kids to play in.

Happy kids!We found assembly really easy. Customer service made it clear via email that they were happy to help if we encountered any issues. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, the items were clearly labeled, and there was a video included with the product. It looks great in our backyard. It feels like a giant sandbox, but it doesn't take up much space. The only downside is that, as a parent, raising and lowering the awning was a little difficult for me. My short stature might have been a factor, but I think I'll get the hang of it after a while. Basically, you have to lift it evenly from the center, and the knobs are loose, which puts your center of gravity in an awkward position, especially if you're short and pregnant like me! Then, you have to tighten the knobs on both sides to keep it upright. The awning is fantastic, though! The fabric is sturdy, the angle can be adjusted for more shade, and it really holds up to a downpour. We're really glad we bought this sandbox for our kids; they love it!

Excellent indoor/small outdoor sandbox!We gave it to my son as a Christmas gift. We filled it with about 25 pounds of kinetic sand and some smaller construction equipment toys. We planned to store it at the store, but it's actually at home for now. The plastic is sturdy and well-designed. It's not very large (not big enough to sit in and play), but it's perfect for 1-4 children to play with their hands. The lid can be completely removed to expand the play area, with a ramp to drive the included dump truck. It also comes with the "excavator" on the box, two construction workers (like minifigures), two shovels, and a spade. It may come with more, but I'm not sure at this point. One thing to note is that the lid doesn't completely seal or "click" into place. It's firmly fixed to the top and is sturdy, but it doesn't keep bugs or small particles out. It's unlikely that a child would open the lid on their own, but there's a way to close it completely. It says it can hold more sand, but I'd probably only fit 25-40 pounds so that my child can play with the toys inside. Larger boxes are much more expensive and wouldn't quite suit our needs, and the smaller box is actually more expensive. Overall, good value for money.

Great little sandbox that can accommodate three toddlers.It does what it's supposed to do, but don't expect it to last for generations. It's easy to assemble. For those customers who complained about the fit and clearance, I've found they assembled it incorrectly. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. The folding lid keeps cats and small animals out, yet is lightweight enough for my two-year-old to open easily. Its depth is perfect for holding about 200 pounds of sand, and the kids can get in and out easily. My only complaint is the quality of the materials. The wood isn't the highest grade, but it's withstood the wear and tear of my three children so far. Yes, it can crack during assembly if you overtighten the screws. Be careful when assembling, and you'll be fine. Also, take the time to level the floor. Anything wrapped around the floor will cause the box to lose its squareness and put excessive stress on the joints. The only thing that's broken so far is the hinges on the lid. I knew it would be the first to fail. They're cheap. I bought some higher-quality ones from a big-box store for a few bucks, and that solved the problem.

Great sandbox with lots of gameplay possibilitiesWhat a great little sandbox! We recently bought this for our son's third birthday, and it's been a fantastic investment! For a little one obsessed with trucks and building, it's a perfect match. He now has a "sandbox" all his own, and he's easily put 75 hours of use into it in the two months we've had it! It's compact. Don't expect multiple kids to play in it; it's not really that big. Personally, this is a real bonus because he (and a parent or a friend) can play around it without getting sand in the wrong places. However, if you're looking for a sandbox that kids can play in, be aware that this isn't the one for you. I love that it has a lid, so I can be sure the neighborhood cats won't take it over. The fact that the lid opens and becomes part of the play area is fantastic and really adds to its value. Note that it's not hinged; instead, it slides through slots when the lid is open and installed, transforming into a ramp/roadway for the trucks. All the extra tools and the truck that comes with it are really nice extras. The crane is so much fun for him (and me!) that I hope he continues to play with it for at least a few more years.
