So I\'ve had this for more than a year now and the only damage it sustained is the end fraying. Still functions just the way we got it. The box was a little heavy so be careful. Installing this also requires two people of course to make things a little easier. For the amount I paid I\'d say yes get this, it\'s good value for what you get and will last and still look good aside from the fraying ends.

When I received it, it appears to have been returned. It was scratched and had dents, but I had hired a handyman to install it and he discovered it when he opened the box. He said he thought it was just cosmetic and would work, it just had some dings, dents and scratches! So now I guess I will see how sturdy it is but I suggest you thoroughly look at it before installing!

Q: Can this be mounted on a timber beam 50mm thick? And are the winding rods detachable?

A: It is not recommended to install on a wooden wall, as it may be unstable. We recommend installing it on a concrete wall.
Q: Can this be ceiling mounted as opposed to wall?

A: As long as it is a cement or steel ceiling, the expansion screw is included. If the ceiling is wood, you need to buy the screws to use on the wood yourself.
Q: Can this awning be fitted to a caravan?

A: Not recommended
