Good quality for a beginner hornI quit band in the 4th grade, and as an adult I decided I wanted to teach myself trombone again. I was looking for a used one on ebay/marketplace, etc. This works great. Good sound. Good value. Easy to assemble. Case is durable. Great for a beginner/student. No complaints thus far.

Terrible-even for first year playersThis made my daughter almost quit band. Even though it costs the same as a year rental for a good quality instrument, it will suck the joy out of playing. Not worth the “savings”. I rented a trombone after this debacle and she now immensely enjoys playing and has improved so rapidly. The slide sticks, the sound is terrible, and it dents easy. Please don’t buy this, even for a 9 year old.

I bought this for my grandson\'s birthday.My grandson plays trombone in band at school and has been using a borrowed instrument in a very heavy case. He was so thrilled when he opened his own and put it together and immediately began to play it. He said, \"Now mom will not have to pick me up or take me to school when I bring the trombone home to practice.\" It means that he will have a trombone at home any time he wants to play it enticing him to practice more and enjoy playing his own instrument.

You get what you Pay forWe bought this as a student instrument. Looked fine but after the band teacher inspected it, found that the slide did not slide out freely as it is supposed to: had too much resistance and stayed in place when tipped down, which it isn\'t supposed to do. He said that happens on a cheaper instrument. We did need to return it for a full refund and pay our own shipping. We then had to go buy a more expensive trombone of better quality to ensure the slide worked correctly. Lesson learned. Good trombones run 1k-2k for a reason.

Slide is very scratchySound is OK, but the slide makes a lot of noise. Started with trombotine and a spray bottle. No matter how much we slathered on it\'s always scratchy to where you can hear the slide as it moves very clearly.
This of course means there\'s extra friction so the slide doesn\'t move as easily as we expect.
While this is a \"cheap\" trombone, it\'s not that much less than other brands.
If you want to save money, either buy a P-Bone which is much less expensive, or spring for another $50-100 to get a higher quality instrument.Posted on

Inexpensive starter instrumentMy son really wanted to try trombone with the school band this year but we weren’t ready to invest a ton of money in something he may not like in 6 months. It’s sturdy, well made and assembles easily. The case is durable and secure. It sounds fine to me and the band teacher hasn’t raised any concerns so I assume it plays well also. Great to start with

slide has a friction bindThe slide has a sticking spot that makes it a little difficult to find the exact place you\'re looking for with a bit of difficulty. My son is a beginner on the trombone and doesn\'t use this one. His band instructor has not been able to make the slide move easier. $$200+ sitting in the corner.
