SandboxBought this for my 3 year old grandson. He loves to dig and play with trucks and can play for hours. The best part is that when he is done playing, mom can cover it up so the cats don't use it as a litter box.

Will buy againIt was pretty easy to put up. The cover has survived multiple storms and has kept the sand in great condition!

Rugged and fun - just needs some weather protectionOverall, this is a great sandbox. It's very durable and holds about three bags of sand. It was a little tricky to assemble, but it was manageable. It's not very waterproof - we played in the rain with the lid on and it still got some water in, so we ended up moving it under the porch. However, it's a sturdy, well-made product that, with a little care, is perfect for outdoor play.

Great sandbox!Excellent value for money! My two year old daughter loves it. Perfect size and the bench allows her to rest well. The stained wood is as described, smooth and durable. The bench folds up easily and the storage is small but useful. The sand is well contained and no water has accumulated so far. It was fairly simple and straight forward to assemble and the instructions were simple enough for one person to assemble. I do wish it came with an umbrella or parasol and if I bought another I would probably get one with an umbrella. Overall very happy with it.

Exactly what we wantWe bought this toy for the kids this summer. We wanted something big enough for two kids to play with for a long time. The wood is good quality and the color is beautiful. It holds a lot of sand and both kids have plenty of room to play. The price is good and it comes with a nice waterproof cover to keep the cats out. The only minor downside is that the cover (lid) is starting to bulge at the seams. All in all it serves its purpose as a sandbox and meets our requirements.

Cool sandbox!I'm glad I bought this sandbox. My son had a lot of fun playing in it. It's the right size and there are water games. The awning is helpful when it's sunny. The sandbox is cool. I recommend it!

Please check the parts before assembling! The lid is filled with water.Bought it in April and finally got it assembled today because of the rain. Got everything laid out and locked until the last piece and it all worked fine. The lock was cut wrong so the octagon was not finished but was in line with the previous piece. My options were to cut the correct angles or call the manufacturer for a new piece. I cut the correct angles and it assembled just fine. Check all angles before assembling! Will give you a review after using it. After a few weeks of use, it has rained more than usual at this time of year, and the cover fits just right, but it feels like water has come off, and then what about the sand. The corners should have velcro that can be tied off at once instead of using small elastic bands. I recommend putting something high in the middle so the water can run off. This works with a small amount of rain, but if it rains hard, the water still pulls out of the corners and falls off and spills into the sand. Currently looking for a tarp to attach to it.

Perfect for toddlers and even younger children.Love this! Perfect size and price! While it's not a "sit in" type of sandbox, it's perfect for toddlers and younger kids to sit and play in. My grandchildren range from 18 months to 8 years old and everyone plays! I also love that it's made in the USA! Holds 100 lbs of sand.

Although not waterproof, it is a great traditional sandboxI have always wanted a traditional sandbox for my son. We bought him one and it took three bags of sand to fill it up. The plastic ones are durable enough to leave in the backyard, but they are not very waterproof. Usually after a storm, the sand inside is wet, but my one year old son doesn't mind at all! It has not faded and so far so good.

The perfect sandbox! This sandbox is awesome! It's the perfect size! We don't have a big backyard, but I wanted a sandbox big enough for my three kids and a few of their friends to play in this summer! I found that the 15 bags of sand were just the right amount! The lid isn't the best, but it works pretty well. The wood is great quality too, and it was super quick and easy to put together.

The grandkids loved it.Like another review said, it was easy to assemble although it requires drilling. The picture shows that it has 100 lbs of sand in it. Plenty for 4 decent sized kids to play with.

Excellent qualityThe product is good quality. It was very easy to assemble. The instructions were very clear. It's easy to follow even if you've never assembled anything before. All the parts are numbered. You don't need to read the instructions because it's all pictures. Everything assembles easily. The best part is that the screws are of good quality. I usually have to go to Lowe's to get good screws. But not with this one. It comes with spare screws in case you need them. All in all, a good product.

The kids love it and have been playing it for three years now.The kids absolutely loved this sandbox. Great value for the money. Can fit two toddlers comfortably but is a little small. We keep it in the garage so we don't have to worry about it raining. The cover screws on so I don't know how well it's waterproof. The sand also falls out of the joints at the bottom of the sandbox which is a bit maddening. My kids love it though.

Very worth buyingVery cool sandbox. Fun for kids and parents. Plenty of space for several kids to play together. The side stand is also great and comes with a water tank. The kids love it. I specifically looked for one with a canopy that can be adjusted in height. This is important to prevent the kids from getting heat stroke. Everything is well done and looks beautiful.

It has stood the test of time!I am very happy with its lifespan. We have had it for three years now, I have seven children, it has been outdoors all the time and it has not broken down at all. The base, cover and main excavator attached are all intact, not even a crack. We have used it to load sand and also water. It has stood up to everything. I am very happy with this purchase and 100% recommend it!

Love this sandboxWe love this! My granddaughters are 1, 3, and 5. They had so much fun and the sandbox is big enough to accommodate their friends. We started with 12 bags of sand. I think it would be easy to add 3 more. I read a review that said to put a beach ball or bouncy ball under the sandbox cover when it rains. It works great!

Missing the turtle face, but everything else is greatGot the thing put together and halfway through I realized we were missing the bottom of the turtle's mouth. Not important for active play but I mean, the turtle sandbox is now headless so. It's already assembled and I don't want to have to take it apart and return it for that little piece. I wish I could talk to the seller and have them send me the part but that's just not going to happen. Return it or get lost. Got it. It still works but the lid is supposed to be strapped to the turtle's head and I don't have that so now I'm off to the backyard to hopefully get a couple of suitable rocks to keep it secure.

The box is durable but the lid is not so goodWe have had this sandbox for about five months now. Overall, we love it. It holds a lot of sand and is big enough for 3-4 kids. The wood seems pretty sturdy. The lid is not great. It will pool with water and then snap off and dump all the water out of the sandbox. If you leave it there for more than a few hours, water will start to drip through the lid and into the sandbox. My husband took some PVC and made it into an X shape so it would drain better. That did help but water still pooled in places where the PVC didn't hold up. Overall, it's still a great sandbox, just don't expect the lid to be waterproof.

The perfect durable and space-saving sandbox, complete with lid and toys, for your little one!I highly recommend this sandbox! It's very sturdy and it was so easy to put together! So far it looks very durable and perfect for a small space. The instructions say it needs a few hundred pounds of sand, but you only need a 50 pound bag of sand! This would be a great gift for my three year old grandson and he loves playing in it! My only complaint is that it's a little pricey, but that's also economical haha. Oh and I love that it comes with a shovel and rake, a truck, and two cute characters!

Convenient Storage Pockets Are KeyThe integrated storage pockets on the sides of the sandbox are a lifesaver. They keep all the toys organized and easily accessible, which means less time searching and more time playing outside. This thoughtful design detail really enhances the whole experience for my child.

Beautiful – great purchase! This sandbox is made of beautiful materials and is of great quality. It was very easy for us to build in 30 minutes. The hardest part was getting the sand into the sandbox. The lid is very durable and easy to use. We have been using it for almost a month and it feels great. We use it every day and it is a great value for money. One note: if rain is expected, place a large beach ball or something to create a dome effect in the middle of the sandbox before using the lid. I found out today that scooping water out of such a large sandbox is not an easy task.

The perfect backyard addition! So happy! My two little ones love this sandbox, it's the perfect size for both of them and there's plenty of room. It was very easy to put together and took me about an hour. The lid is nice but it gets stuck when it's windy so we bought clips to keep it in place. We nailed the liner in place as others suggested. We used 15 bags of sand, 750 pounds total.

High quality products, great valueThe sandbox is of very good quality and was easy to assemble, with all parts and hardware clearly marked and easy to identify. As a retired engineer and also a woodworker, I am very happy and impressed with this product. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a sandbox for children.

Great purchaseNo complaints except for the small blemish on the top shade. When it rains, it collects water and starts to sag, so I usually take it down when they're not playing in the sand to prevent it from getting torn. Everything else is great, I used a tarp underneath at first (tarps also collect water, so not recommended). Now I have cardboard underneath the sand and it works much better!

The price is not bad.Like others have said, the wood is soft so I expect the screws will eventually slide out and we will have to do some repairs. We did what others have said in the comments and filled it with 6 bags of sand. It could have held more but it was enough for our little one. We may add more later. It doesn't have a bottom so we used a cheap tarp since it's on our patio. It was a little confusing at first because it came with 2 sets of instructions and one of them was missing a step. Once I figured that out it went much smoother. At the top of the instruction photo it shows the 2 outer top pieces with Velcro on the top but the direction of the screw holes was the wrong way around. So we followed the direction of the screw holes and the canopy still stretched to the edge just fine. All in all I would buy again.

Protect your hands and use a drill with a long drill bitlike the lid, although I always put a rock or something on it because I don't think it's secure. The size is perfect for my 3 year old. We've only just started using it so I don't know if it gets water or bugs often. I didn't enjoy putting it together. There are no pre-drilled holes so I had to guess at the angles to drill and ended up screwing up a few times. The amount of screws that need to go in requires a drill, not a hand screwdriver, but the angles required make using a drill difficult. If you have a good long drill bit, use that to make life easier. I do like this affordable plastic sandbox, but I don't know if I like it so I'm only giving it 4 stars. It's certainly more attractive than the Green Turtle (at least to me) and my kids don't care about looks as long as they can make a mess with the sand haha. I think it can hold 4x50 lb bags of sand (200 lbs total). My husband didn't listen to me and put in 5 bags. The box was pretty full but it was OK. There was too much sand and not enough room for toys. The lid is dome-shaped, probably to make it easier to store toys and prevent rainwater from running away.

Well constructed. Capable of warping space and time. Possibly sentient. The box arrived looking like it had been fired from a cannon, but the wood pieces inside were intact and smelled great. Spray painting (optional, but looks beautiful) took a while because the wood absorbed the paint like a tissue, but once it was done, assembly was a breeze. Which brings me to the only problem with this box. This thing holds a lot of sand… Once it’s ready and you start filling it with sand, you start to question your own judgment, your understanding of physics, three-dimensional space, and reality itself. You add bag after bag of sand to the center of the box, knowing that it should be full, but it never seems to fit. My daughter watched eagerly, ready to jump in and play with her little cars and new beach toys. I dumped what felt like 10,000 pounds of sand into her new sandbox, and couldn’t understand why there was so little sand inside. “Why is it so empty?” she asked me, with a hint of confusion in her tone. Exhausted, frantic from exertion and the heat, I answered, "I don't know, honey. Maybe a black hole." "Or maybe magic," she replied, sounding ominous. I paused, staring at her as another bag of sand slowly poured down. Even in the midday sun, I felt a chill creep over me. I looked from my daughter to the empty sandbox. It seemed to be staring at me, waiting for me to fill it with more sand. Go feed it... I picked up my little girl and ran as fast as I could with legs numb with fear. The door seemed so far away and it wasn't getting any closer, even though I was running as fast as I could, faster than I had ever run in my life. There was silence except for the heavy footsteps and my short breaths, but I swear I heard a voice in my head screaming in anger. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, we were at the door. I practically threw my daughter in and slammed the door shut. I slid to the floor, panting and sweating. My daughter didn't quite understand what was happening, but she could sense that the heavy, evil shadow that had been engulfing us for hours was receding. "Are we safe now?" she asked. "Yes, baby," I answered, my breath still coming in short gasps. "We are safe. For now."

Great little sandbox!Upon opening the box, I was horrified to find six broken pieces! I guess they were damaged in shipping, but it was really disappointing. I didn't want to send the sandbox back because replacements for the same sandbox have gone up in price so much since I purchased it. I saw other people patch the broken pieces with wood glue and put it together like normal, so I did that too. Assembly was very simple. The "seat" pieces on the top didn't line up 100%, but they fit better than anything I could have put together myself! It's the perfect size for my three-year-old, and six 50-pound bags of sand filled it up and it fit just right. The lid is thin, but it fits well; I hope it will hold up. Be careful if you're an adult sitting on it, though; I feel like it's going to break every time I sit on the seat! I try to keep my butt in the chair as much as possible so my kid doesn't break it.

Easy setupWe bought this mainly to give the pup a place to dig, but my 8 year old son loves it too. He was able to assemble it himself since it's like putting together a puzzle and I helped him screw the top pieces on. It only took us 10 minutes to put it together. We used the recommended 6 bags of 50 lb play sand but will probably buy more in the future. The cover isn't the best and right now it's raining it's like a mini pool but since the bottom is weed cloth it will dry out even if the sand gets wet. My son tried sitting on the sides since a few people mentioned that was a problem and he's 50 lbs and it sat just fine and didn't move. I don't think I'd jump on them but they look good for sitting. So far a great addition considering the price and the nice look.

Huge bottomless sandboxThis sandbox was well-loved by our young daughter, and the benches are said to support a lot of weight. This sandbox is sturdy in construction and with only 8 steps, it is very simple to follow. If you use a cordless drill to drive in the screws, remember to only use it on the lowest setting. There is also an Allen wrench for the hex bolts that come with the kit. There are four sizes of wood screws, and there is a spare for each. It took me about half an hour to assemble this kit, and since there are no written instructions, pay close attention to the guide holes and hardware orientation in the pictures. The sunshade is held in place by Velcro, and the receiving half of the Velcro is stapled to the frame, which may come loose later, but it is easy to fix. All in all, it is a great design. Since this sandbox is bottomless, ground preparation is required before adding sand, and if you are handy, you can make one out of plywood and fasten it to the base.

Love this sandbox!Perfect for my 1 and 2 1/2 year old! Plenty of room for me to sit in with them. We used 7 bags of sand, but I would probably add another bag or two. It was very easy to assemble and took my mom about an hour to do it (it would have been much quicker if my little one hadn't "helped"). We glued the pieces together and stapled the lining to the bottom.

Great sandboxGreat product. Comes with lid. Remember to repeat step 3 (long board) when assembling so you can assemble 3 rows total. You will need a staple gun and staples to staple the bottom liner to the bottom of the sandbox. I guess you can just put the sides on the base. I folded the edges over twice and stapled them in. Works great.

Great productOur sandbox has no rips or cracks like others have posted. It fits my 1, 3, and 7 year olds all at once and there is plenty of room. Everyone has commented on how much they love this sandbox (and how it looks). I filled it with seven 50 lb sandbags and could have done with about three more, but it was enough for my kids. The lid can be difficult to put on unless you put two corners together first, then go to the other side and put those two corners on, then put the other two on last. Like others have said, put a tall toy in the sandbox so it rests against the middle of the lid so it doesn't puddle on top when it rains. I've never had a problem with my sandbox (I live in Utah and we don't get much rain in the summer!). The lid does fade quickly when it's hot, but that's not a big deal. Overall, my kids love it and it's a good purchase

My kids don't want to come in now...This was a Christmas gift for my two young boys (16 months and 6 years old). They love it so much that they get upset when it gets dark or they have to go home. My husband put it on the side of the house without windows on Christmas Eve. That night, after they were asleep, we moved it to the backyard. It was easy enough for two people to move since there was no sand yet. We put a layer of plastic weed pad on the bottom to keep weeds and insects out. We used 8 bags of play sand from Home Depot to fill it. It could have been less, but I wanted a lot of sand. Especially since the baby will probably get some of it out for a while. We live in central Texas where it is very windy and rainy. It has been windy and rainy since Christmas Eve. So far, the canopy is still intact and seems to be solid. We are doing well in that regard so far. I also like that it has a door...because our cats seemed to shout "claimed!" when we put it outside on Christmas Eve. The door keeps him from using it as a giant litter box...and keeps other critters out of our backyard...and we have a lot of critters. We also have snakes, frogs, and scorpions. The slabs are laid out wide enough that scorpions and some small snakes can get in, but we would definitely double check before the kids jump in. One issue is that some of the holes were not pre-drilled (on one of the canopy poles). Luckily I brought the proper tools to drill the holes myself or this review might have ended differently. I bought this litter box for the canopy because we have a bit of a bi-polar weather here in Central Texas...one moment it's sunny and the next it's pouring with rain. I would recommend that the manufacturer check these litter boxes to make sure this is not an issue because I think I've seen other people have the same problem. Other than that, it was pretty easy to put together. My husband did it in a few hours by himself. He's a construction engineer so he probably thought it was quick and easy. I decided to give it a 5 star review because my sons loved this sandbox so much :-)
